Job Summary
The Training Manager is responsible to manage the on-time delivery of a portfolio of flight training programs, in compliance with the academy’s standards and authority regulations. The Training Manager puts a strong focus on professional behavior and attitude, which are key elements to develop the next generation of airlines pilots. The incumbent shall strive towards providing a best in class experience to delight our student pilots.
The Training Manager is responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring a group of instructors as well as executing the performance management duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for promoting flight safety throughout the school, supported by the local Safety Officer
- Drive, monitor and report on the cadet progress and throughput as per the Training Service Agreement
- Drive efficient operations through monitoring of the utilization rate of the flight instructors.
- Define and monitor the required quality and standard of training given by the instructors, in concert with the Training Excellence Manager.
- Accountable for ensuring that the school is in compliance with the local regulatory requirements. Ensuring Training policies and processes are suitable for task and regulatory requirements. Advising Specialists of shortfalls and remedial requirements
- Define and ensure an adequate number of suitably qualified FAA instructors are employed to undertake the required training task of the FAA program, and execute the S&OP production plan. Liaise with the recruitment team to provide the needs.
- Communicate and promote policies, procedures and standards throughout the school
- Ensure that all training documentation, manuals and courseware are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of the business
- Ensuring that Training is delivered to meet the Academy’s mission to be the worldwide leading Flight Academy, training the future generation of airline ready pilots through standardized training programs and safe operations. This shall be done by performing regular progress checks, EOC checks and other relevant training duties.
- Lead a team of 25-40 ground/flight instructors
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong people leader and change agent
- Ability to work well in a highly structured environment
- Team-focused and Results-Oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Open to culture diversification
- High proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook
Education & Experience
- Must have proper authorization to live/work in the United States
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- Current & valid FAA flight instructor license and relevant medical certificate
- No aircraft accident or aviation violation convictions
- 2+ years of experience as a Flight Instructor
- Previous Management or Flight Lead experience in an aviation related business preferred
