Liberty Middle School is searching for an administrative assistant to join their office team. POSITION: Administrative Assistant - Liberty Middle School
TERM: 11 month position, Monday - Friday
SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the principal or other administrator, provide clerical, secretarial and administrative assistance to school administrators, conveying information regarding school functions and procedures; and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support employees.

- Prepares, copies and distributes notices, memoranda or other correspondence for the purpose of informing school employees regarding activities, events or other work-related matters.
- Assists in planning and scheduling school events and activities, and maintaining calendar of school and students events for the purpose of coordinating and scheduling events such as orientation, open house, field trips, sporting events, assemblies, and conferences
- Assists in maintaining documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance
- Prepare purchase orders for the purpose of submitting to the school district's accounting/finance office
- Assists in maintaining inventories of supplies and materials
- Assists visitors to the office, including students, parents, and substitutes teachers
- Answers telephone calls and provides information and assistance to callers
- Distributes incoming mail appropriately and sends outgoing mail
- Evaluates situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution
- Registers new students, ensures forms are complete, obtains transcripts and other documentation as needed, and enters data into computer system regarding enrollment and student records
- Responds to inquiries from students, parents and employees, provides information, facilitates communication among parties and provides direction
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, and the school community
- Excellent computer skills, specifically productivity software
- Highly efficient and self-motivated
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and with multiple interuptions
- Associate degree in office administration preferred
- Previous office experience preferred
- Prior experience working in a school preferred
SALARY: 2019-20 Classified Support Staff Salary Schedule
$16.63/hour to start plus excellent benefits and paid time off (*based on current salary schedule)
