QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary education, sociology, or other related field required.
  • Experience in early childhood development, preferred.
  • Experience in record management and compliance with federal regulations, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with service organizations, parents and children from birth to three years.
  • Ability to physically perform job assignments including, but not limited to, lifting and carrying children up to 40 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and have ability to travel throughout the service area. Must also possess, or have ability to obtain, a chauffeur’s license to transport passengers.
  • Following hire, must obtain a ServSafe credential to ensure food safety, as well as a CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Must successfully pass all agency-required background checks, physical and TB test prior to hire.
  • Must be sympathetic to the goals of a Community Action Agency.

WAGE

$16.00/hour plus agency fringe benefits

WORK LOCATION

Tuscola County

Base Office in Caro

WORK SCHEDULE

Mondays – Wednesdays, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Flexibility in schedule will be required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide program planning and implementation of scheduled activities for infants and toddlers in both home-based and group socialization activities.
  • Provide parent involvement, beginning with orientation, including all program component areas, coordinate home visit portion of program and aid in transition to next program.
  • Supervise daily activities of children to address all areas of school readiness, including language, cognitive,physical, social, and emotional.
  • Coordinate activities with community resource partners, such as community health and medical community.
  • Coordinate family development activities, such as employability skills, educational pursuits, employment opportunities, childcare, and transportation.
