Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of the volunteer program consistent with the Alacare Hospice policies and procedures. Responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, education, placement, supervision and coordination of all Hospice Volunteers and for volunteer program administration and development in all service areas. Actively involved in departmental planning and marketing activities.

Qualifications

Education Required: High School Diploma

Education Desired: Bachelor's Degree in Human Studies field, Business or Health Administration

Experience Required: Coordination of some type of service, computer applications and systems, community involvement

Experience Desired: Two (2) years’ experience coordinating a volunteer program. Two (2) ears experience in providing leadership or guidance in community functions and programs.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to perform full-range sedentary work requiring sitting, walking, and standing.
  • Must possess vision, hearing, feeling, physical strength and dexterity necessary to perform all the duties of a Volunteer & Community Relations Coordinator
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to give and receive instructions and information, both in person and via telephone
  • Work requires exerting force of up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds frequently, and/or 10 pounds constantly in moving objects or materials
